What are the Properties of Stem Cells
Stem cells form a very important class of cells in the human body and firmly differ from other kinds of cells in the body. All stem cells, despite of their basis of origin, have three general properties linked with them. These three properties and forms of stem cells include their skill to split and renew themselves for long periods; them being unspecialized; and their skill to give mount to specialized cell types. These properties too make stem cells invaluable and work well in stem cell therapy. Stem cells are capable of splitting and renovating themselves for long periods. Unlike muscle cells, blood cells, or nerve cells—which do not normally duplicate themselves—stem cells might duplicate many times.
There are two types of stem cells based on their basis of origin, these include embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells.
